I was scared of everything at the local animal shelter in Troutdale, Oregon just east of Portland, Oregon. The people at the shelter said I was afraid of feet. It turns out that I just wanted the peeps around me not to step on me since I was way down there and I wanted them to listen to me. Maybe I was kicked around or stepped on before but since I can’t speak peep-talk I don’t know how to tell you what happened before.
My new mommy saw me on a Saturday and knew I was the one for her. I knew she was the one for me also. She was about 10 minutes too late to adopt me that day and I was hoping she would be back in the morning and she was. YAY! I now had me new mommy and most importantly a new HOME.
I came to live in my new home on July 16, 2017. The reason my name is spelled with a Z is in honor of my angel brother Izzy who crossed over the rainbow bridge on May 25, 2017 which would have been my mommy’s human dad’s 81st Birthday. He crossed over on 02/10/17. It has been a tough year for my mommy.
But today, October 21, 2017 I can honestly say that I am the light of my mommy’s life. I run to greet her when she comes home from work and never leave her side for the rest of the evening. I sleep curled up next to her after a couple of months of keeping my distance ( I was sleeping on her bed but kept my distance of about 12” away from her. Now I am right against her and I let her drape her arm over me.). I let her KISS my belly with no claws when before just her hand would cause me to bite and bunny kick her. She holds and manipulates my paws and I don’t scratch. We trust each other now and it’s all due to communication and giving me toys to kick instead of her. And the toys are more fun anyway.
I am happy in my new home. I love my mommy but I still yell at her when I want something she is having. Especially cheese! I love cheese and when that big white box is opened I always expect to get something mommy is having and she usually shares a bit.
Patzy
MOL…you’re a little cheese cat, just like my uncle Angel…Granny’s angel 😀 So glad you found a furrever home with your lovely mom. I thought your name Patzy was because you give a pats sometimes, but now I know better. Thanks for the insides 🙂 Here’s another double Pawkiss for you and your mommy 🙂 ❤

We never heard of a cheese cat. But I do love cheese. I cry loudly whenever the big white box gets opened because it MIGHT BE CHEESE! My mommy says I am a tuxedo/tortoiseshell cat because of the distinctive white and black on my face and chest, then on my body it turns into a mismatch of black/white tuxedo/ orange tabby stripes and orange spots. My name is Patzy which Is a change from Patches and also to honor Izzy who went over the bridge some months ago so the ‘s’ becomes a ‘z’ to honor him.
I don’t give pats but I am now totally into nose rubs and kisses. My mommy says she always knew I would be the sweetest cat and now I am learning to be less afraid and more loving.

Thanks for visiting our blog, which led me to yours. I look forward to hearing more from Patzy And I am so sorry about all the sorrow you have had this year. I am still grieving over losing my Lexi in Sept. of 2016, but Xena is making it harder to find time to feel bad. 🙂 Hopefully Patzy is doing the same for you.

Oh Patzy is my life. I can’t wait to get home and she is so happy to see me. She gives me nose kisses as soon as she can jump up to the bed to do so. She has had a problem with people picking her up but is slowly getting over that. I have brought home plenty of toys and she loves them but if you’ve ever had a cat, their favorite toys are ones they discover themselves such as a bendy straw or the ring off of a milk jug. MOL. I Light up whenever I have a chance to talk about her. So yes, she is definitely my lifesaver right now.
And your Xena is making me rethink not getting another dog. She is sooo cuuute! And just the right size!

Now that is quite a compliment. Hopefully, she will get to 18 or 20 pounds and 13 or 14 inches at the shoulder. I love the look and temperament of these “standard” miniature schnauzers much better than the tiny ones that I call “toy.”

Totally!! I picked her at the shelter. The boy that took me out of the cage told mommy not to touch my tummy and she just looked at him like he was out of his mind. I love to be rubbed on my chest and slowly work down to my tummy. Yeah I was a little bit of a bunny kicker at first but mommy could tell I really liked it and I love it. She can touch me anywhere!
The day she saw me was 10 minutes past adoption time. You would have thought they might stay a few minutes late to get a kitty adopted but it was Saturday (but it was only like 4pm) I think. But mommy showed me how much she wanted me and was there right when they opened on Sunday. We were both so happy to see each other. We picked each other – Love at first sight!
