Sad day for us today

Today is a sad day as mommy had to take our old doggie to cross the bridge. He was a good old dog, our Buddy. A kind and friendly dog to everyone, cats, peeps and other dogs. Even mommy’s pet rat she had a few years ago. She used to walk Buddy with Izzy and Pepper (both kitties who went over the bridge a while ago) and Phoenix the rat would ride on her shoulder. They got a lot of looks by neighbors. Kids thought it was cool though. The whole menagerie got along great.

I was a little afraid of Buddy at first but he just ignored me. Maybe he would have liked me better if I went for walks too but mommy says I am to be an indoor kitty. We might try a harness for walkies or maybe a stroller too so I can go outside. She’s thinking about building me a catio also next spring. That would be awesome cool.

But today we are sad that Buddy is not with us, but we are also glad he is no longer in pain. His legs and hips gave out and he couldn’t walk. This is fairly common in lab/shepherds. This is a picture of Buddy and Izzy when mommy went to Hawaii last year for 9 whole days with her mommy and her brother and his wife. She loved it there but hated the plane ride. My aunty Crystal took this picture and said they were wondering where she was and looking for her. They were great friends.

Anyway, hooray for the rainbow bridge where everyone can be free of pain and watch over those of us still here on earth. We are hoping to meet again some day.

This is my life with my new sweetie pie of a tuxedo/tortie kittie named Patzy. (Short for Patches but with a Z to honor the cat who came before her, Izzy who was named after Izzy Stradlin from Guns N Roses. I named all my animals after 80’s rockstars back then.)

  1. We’re really sorry to hear ’bout Buddy, Patzy. We’re sure awnty Juliea’s feelin’ a bit blue. We bet she’d really like some cuddles, or at least a few close purrs. We’re sendin’ hugs and purrayers.

    Luv ya’

    1. Thank you, we are just glad he is out of pain now. It’s a bit quieter here, but we will be ok. We felt really bad we couldn’t get him help sooner but he was a big dog and mommy needed help getting him to the car and it hurt her a lot for the last few days that she couldn’t take him in sooner. Now it’s just quiet. Thank you for your kind thoughts. Patzy and mom Juliea

    1. Thank you Binky and Granny. We are just happy that our Buddy dog is out of pain. He couldn’t even stand up at the end and he was a 60 pound dog so we would have to carry him out to do his business. He was humiliated and depressed about this. He loved his walks and of course loved smelling every scent that came his way. He will be missed surely, but he is definitely happier now that he has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and now he is a young exuberant puppy or young dog – it is up to him what stage of life he wants to be now. I feel so much better that he is no longer in pain and I will remember his younger self.

    1. I don’t know how to do that. I just started this a bit ago and I am lost and making all kinds of mistakes. I just realized how I could follow yours! If you have advice please help. Anybody reading this have an answer? I guess I have to take a class or go to you-tube?

      1. One way is to go to your WP Admin page. Go to Settings, Discussion, and scroll down to Follow Blog and check that box.
There is another way, I will look now and let you know. I think it is by adding it to the sidebar.

      2. OK, again, in your WP Admin, go to Appearance, then Widgets, and you should find one that says Follow Blog. Just grab it and drag it over to where it says Side Bar. Save it and that should do I!
